Engineering Mindset

This principle governs how problems are approached.

Orientation

  • First do no harm.
  • See for yourself. (Genchi Genbutsu)
  • Ask questions before making statements.

Reality is the authority.

Problem Solving

The best way to complain is to fix the problem.

Every outcome produces:

  • a good result
  • or a lesson

Both are acceptable. Stagnation is not.

Analysis

  • Seek root causes, not blame.
  • Favor single-number estimates with highest confidence.
  • Prefer action over discussion.

Rule

If you see a problem and do nothing, you own the outcome.
